Getting Started

Milan Signature is BanyanWay’s premium matchmaking service which is both personalized and confidential. A personal Relationship Manager works with you to understand your preferences and present custom personalized introductions.

 

We serve Indian parents who have singles living in the US, and we serve Indian singles living in the US. We DO NOT provide services to anyone under the age of 21.

 

Matchmaking has been an integral part of Indian culture and has aided innumerable families and Singles to find suitable matches. BanyanWay’s Milan Signature service brings back the ‘human’ component of matchmaking to the Indian diaspora in the USA. We leverage our database, contacts in the community, the matchmaking extended community and more, in the search for the perfect person for you.

 

We believe in quality over quantity. To support this goal, we provide carefully selected profiles based on your single's preferences. Your Relationship Manager will then collect feedback from you on what you liked and did not like about the profile to present more relevant matches.

Milan Connect

Getting Started

Milan Connect is an online matchmaking platform designed specifically for Indian parents whose singles are living in the US.

Milan Connect is for Indian parents who have an adult single child who lives in the US.

After creating an account on Milan Connect, a parent builds a profile with information about their single child. The parent also enters partner preferences and profiles that match these preferences are presented to the parent. Parents can contact these potential matches directly through the Milan Connect platform to gather more information.

It’s very simple & fast! You simply visit the BanyanWay website at http://www.banyanway.com and signup as a new user by giving a valid email address and creating a password. You will receive an email verification immediately after registering that will enable you to confirm your account.

We show information that will help others understand you, your single and your background. We do not share full names or any contact information such as email address or phone number. Click here to see a sample profile.

No. We do not share your full name or any other contact information such as your email address or phone number. Other users can contact you only through the online messaging feature within Milan Connect. Once you are connected with other parents, you may choose to share additional contact information.

Creating a Milan Connect Profile

Typically, a good profile is one that has all (or most) of the fields completed with accurate information. It is important that you include at least one good photo of your single children. Just like you would like to know about someone, others too would like to understand the interests, preferences, and background of your single children.

Please make sure that you include at least one photo in your single children’s profiles—two or three photos are even better. In addition, do try to complete all the hobbies and interest fields so that other parents may get a good understanding of your single children.

Please complete as much of your single children’s profile information as possible, include good photos, and use relatively broad choices in your partner preferences. Over time, these items will increase the number of potential matching profiles that you will be able to see.

No, we require at least one photo of your single children. Without a photo, your single children’s profile will be incomplete and will appear to be a fake profile. Without a photo, other parents may not be as interested in your single children, and so you may not receive as many requests to connect.

Any photo which represents your single is recommended. Ideally, your single children’s face should be seen clearly in the photo. The preferred format is JPEG (.jpg extension) with a resolution of at least 500 pixels on each side.

We use their phone number to send them a text informing them that you are posting their information on Milan Connect. We never publish any phone numbers within Milan Connect.

What you include here will enable other parents to understand your personal and family background, culture, and interests. Possible entries here can include your mother tongue, community, diet, regionality, or the Indian state that you descend from. Some examples are:

  • “Indian”
  • “South Indian, Telugu, non-vegetarian”
  • “Gujarati, Hindu, vegetarian”
  • “Indian, pescatarian, okay with non-veg”.

It’s very easy! Choose your son or daughter from the dropdown list at the top labeled “Select Your Single”. Once you select your single children, click on the “Settings” icon at the top (which looks like small gears) and you can then update all of the profile information for yourself as well as for your single children.

No, you cannot put your profile on hold.

To delete your profile, email us at customersupport@banyanway.com. Please note: There are no refunds of your subscription fee if you decide to leave Milan Connect before the end of your subscription period.

Using Milan Connect

You can set your partner preferences to filter by

  • Age
  • Marital Status
  • Raised Where (which is used to share where your single children were raised)
  • Location within the U.S.

You cannot filter or search by caste or subcaste within Milan Connect.

Yes, if the other parent has entered this information in the field labeled “How Parents Describe Themselves” in the Profile Details.

You may have set your partner preferences too narrowly. Try broadening your partner preferences.

Yes. We have an option for registering two adult single children and we do have such parents in our database. Once you Sign up and complete the profile for your first adult single child, you can then Sign up and complete the profile for your second adult single child. Note that each adult single child requires a separate subscription.

Milan Connect includes many of the most important aspects about singles; but if you are interested in a profile and don’t see specific information you would like to know, you can contact those parents within Milan Connect to ask.

The messaging within Milan Connect is similar to email. You may receive a response immediately or it may take some time before you receive a response. The other parent is notified when messages arrive, so please be patient since they may be busy.

Plans, Free Trial and Billing

The free trial period is offered to give you the opportunity to try Milan Connect for no charge. At the end of the free trial period, your plan will automatically begin and you will be charged. If you cancel your plan before the end of your plan period, you will not be charged.

You have full functionality within Milan Connect during your free trial.

Milan Connect has three different plan lengths: month-to-month, 3 months, and 6 months.

  • $49.99 per month for a month-to-month plan
  • $39.99 per month for a 3-month plan ($119.97 total)
  • $29.99 per month for a 6-month plan ($179.94 total)

Your plan will automatically renew, and your credit card will be charged at the beginning of your next plan period (which could be every month, every 3rd month, or every 6th month). You will receive an email reminder of your upcoming plan renewal before the renewal occurs.

If you use a MasterCard or Visa your credit card will be accepted. You may have currency exchange fees involved which you will see in your billing statement.  Milan Connect by BanyanWay is not responsible for currency exchange fees.

There are no refunds if you cancel before the end of your plan period, but you will not be charged for the next period once you cancel.

Password and Account

At the login screen, click on the “Forgot Your Password?” link below the “Log In” button. You will receive an email from BanyanWay containing a link you can use to reset your password.

  • You may have entered either your email address or password incorrectly. Enter the email address you used when you originally registered.
  • If you don’t remember your password, use the “Forgot Your Password?” link on the login page to reset your password.
  • If you originally registered for BanyanWay using your Facebook account, continue to use your Facebook account to login. Use the “Login with Facebook” button to login.
